Kovar Ranch in Flatonia Texas. This ranch near Austin and Flatonia Texas was a traditional rural farm which was neglected, had extensive invasive mesquite and cedar, and a typical "farm stock tank" (i.e., pond) used for cattle and occasional fishing. The stock tank pond had basically still, stagnant water with algae. This ranch has "Texas Ag 1-d-1 for wildlife". A program was initiated in 2020 to improve the pond by use of AirMax aeration, "Muckaway", and "Ecoboost". The aeration system includes an AirMax SW40HP 1/2 HP aeration pump and four diffusers. The results have been quite encouraging. The four aerators are working (see pictures below and YouTube Click here) as intended. One benefit of aeration will be much less "temperature stratification" to support wildlife (e.g., fish, ducks, etc.), reduce algae and mosquitos, and improve water clarity. Click here for more information on this process. Algae and stratification would normally be a bad problem in Texas summers and this system should greatly help with that problem.
